  1. A click worthy subject line: hint towards the content, make it conversational, inspire action, make it personalized. Don’t make it vague and “massmail-y”.
  2. Tailored body content: hint towards candidate’s work, explain what you are looking for, don’t ramble about company, explain why you are reaching out to them
  3. Clear and simple call to action: have only one, can be schedule a call (give options), can be go to a page (send link), make it stand out from the body of the text.
  4. Detailed signature line: Include name, contact info, social profiles. No fancy graphics!

  1. You are speaking to somebody who knows a lot more about tech than you – so never ever try to wing it and sound important.
  2. That said, no need to “act dumb” either. Speaking to the top of your intelligence will make for richer conversations and emails.
